During IPL 2019, Virender Sehwag wanted MS Dhoni banned for 2-3 games for his on-field actions against Rajasthan Royals. The Chennai Super Kings captain stormed onto the field over a no-ball controversy during the league stage fixture of the season. Dhoni was fined 50 percent of his match fee.

MS Dhoni is considered to be one of the most calm and composed captains. The India legend hardly loses his cool on the field and is called ‘Captain Cool’ for his calmness.

Even when a player makes mistakes, Dhoni is seen dealing with him politely. During IPL 2019, Dhoni left the cricket fraternity in shock when he walked onto the field in anger.

During the 25th match of the season, an over a no-ball issue. The match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) went down to the wire. An extra run and a free hit would have been a boom for the defending champions. The leg-umpire didn’t call for a waist-height no-ball but the TV umpire adjudged it as a no-ball.

Upset with the delivery not being adjudged as a no-ball, Dhoni stormed onto the field. The future ICC Hall of Famer was criticized for his actions and Virender Sehwag wanted him banned for it. He was fined 50 percent of his match fee.

“I think Dhoni got off easy and ought to have been banned for at least two or three games,” Sehwag said. “Because if he did this, another captain may do the same thing tomorrow. So what does an umpire actually contribute?”

CSK went on to win that match after Mitchell Santner hit a six on the final delivery in the chase to the target of 152. Dhoni went on to lead his side to the final of the season, where they lost to Mumbai Indians in a final-ball thriller. Dhoni has captained CSK to five IPL titles thus far.
