Virat Kohli scored 92 runs off 47 balls against Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League IPL 2024. He was named the Player of the Match for playing a role in Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s win by 60 runs. The veteran struck 7 fours and 6 sixes and his runs came at a strike rate of 195.74.

He has been under the scanner for his scoring rate in the 17th season but it seems he settled the debate with his best knock in the ongoing season.

“I still prefer quality over quantity. I understand my game at this stage of my career. I am still trying to improve my game. I brought out the slog sweep to the spinners. I know I can hit it as I have done it in the past.

“I need to take more risk to improve my strike rate in the middle overs. We were not good enough in the first half of the tournament. We had stopped looking at the points table and were playing for our self-respect. Make yourself proud and play for fans.

“We need to raise our level. If we had done it earlier, we would have been in a better position instead of relying on various factors,” Virat Kohli said.
