Former Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni didn’t come out to bat in his team’s second match against Gujarat Titans. However, the fans erupted whenever Dhoni was shown standing in the dressing room.
The noise went so high that the commentators’ voices couldn’t be heard. The crowd at the Chepauk gave roars for their favourite cricketer every time they saw him on a giant screen.
Dhoni was doing shadow practice in the death overs. In anticipation of watching him bat, the CSK supporters went berserk.
Dhoni let Sameer Rizvi, the new signing, bat ahead of him. The young batter hit two sixes in Rashid Khan’s over. After Rizvi was dismissed, Ravindra Jadeja walked out to bat ahead of the legendary cricketer and scored seven off three deliveries.
Earlier in the innings, Shivam Dube scored 51 off 23 balls, laced with five sixes and two fours. Rachin Ravindra, the New Zealand all-rounder, amassed 46 off 20 balls, including six fours and three sixes.
Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad was among the runs, scoring 46 off 36 balls. He hit five fours and 1 six as CSK put up 206/6 in 20 overs.
