Mohammad Kaif said Kolkata Knight Rider’s dynamic batter Andre Russell would be a nightmare for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru bowlers at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Russell scored an unbeaten 64 off 25 deliveries against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Eden Gardens. KKR posted 208 for 7 in the first innings.
Speaking to Star Sports, Kaif said Russell will set IPL 2024 on fire. He hit seven sixes to become the fastest player to smash 200 sixes in the cash-rich league.
“It is a fantastic place to hit shots and go after the bowlers. The boundaries are short and the pitch is good for batting. It will be exciting to see Russell bat against RCB. I am sure he is going to set the 17th season of the tournament on fire. He is going to be a nightmare for the rival bowlers,” Mohammad Kaif said.
“He didn’t do much with the bat and ball last season . However, his first game in the ongoing season showed that Russell can be very dangerous in the remaining matches,” he added.
Kaif looks forward to the contest between Mohammed Siraj and Russell in the death overs.
“Russell and Phil Salt batted well. KKR have the spinners and the pacers to take wickets. I want to see the contest between Siraj and Russell,” Kaif added.
