Mohammad Kaif has once again defended Virat Kohli for his strike rate in T20 cricket. After Virat Kohli questioned the credibility of former players for questioning his strike rate, Kaif took to social media side with star cricketer.

In the game against Gujarat Titans, Kohli took 44 balls to score 70 while his teammate Will Jacks faced 41 delieveries to complete his hundred.

The right-handed batter has amassed 500 runs in 10 matches in the 17th season. He has hit one hundred and four fifties at a strike rate of 147.49.

His has amassed over 7000 runs, the highest in the history of the tournament. After the game against Gujarat, Virat lambasted the critics despite his impressive track record.

He refused to give importance to the statements of the commentators and reminded everyone of the games he has won for his teams.

Meanwhile, Kaif recalled Kohli’s performance against Haris Rauf in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. Virat single-handedly took India to an emphatic victory over Pakistan, with Rauf failing to contain the batter in the 19th over of India’s chase.

Kaif didn’t spare anyone. “Virat Kohli once again shows T20 cricket isn’t just about strike rate. To hit Haris Rauf for 6 at World T20 at a packed MCG and finish the game you need Sher ka Jigar not SR. Kohli is in same mode in this IPL,” he wrote on X.
