Aakash Chopra feels Smriti Mandhana vs Ashleigh Gardner will be the contest to watch out for in the Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2023 clash against the Gujarat Giants (GG).
The two franchises will clash at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday, March 8. Both teams are winless in the tournament, having suffered defeats in the first two fixtures.
“Smriti Mandhana versus Ashleigh Gardner is going to be a conterst to watch out for as the Indian batter hasn’t been able to handle the spinners well. Hayley Matthews, Alice Capsey troubled Smriti in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in South Africa.Once again we will find a match-up,” he said on his YouTube Channel.
The former Indian opener also shared his expectations from the Bangalore-based franchise.
“They should use Ellyse Perry slightly better. RCB need better captaincy and runs from Richa Ghosh and Smriti Mandhana. Renuka Singh Thakur and Megan Schutt needs to take wickets,” he added.
