Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis
Ramiz Raja made a stunning remark of Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis

The PCB recently underwent several changes at the top level. They sacked Ramiz Raja and roped in Najam Sethi for his 2nd term as the chairman.

Raja, infuriated by his exit, has been highly active on his YouTube channel, where he candidly opines on recent and past wrongdoings of the board and players.

In his latest media appearance, Raja talked about Pakistan’s legendary seamers Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis, whose names once popped up in match-fixing reports, following which Akram was sacked as the captain.

However, the duo returned to Pakistan cricket in coaching roles, for which Raja was not in favour. The 60-year-old stated that had he been in power, he would have banned the duo forever.

“They returned to the system, and I had to play and work under them as I was powerless. If I were the decision maker, I would have banned the duo forever.”

Raja concluded by answering whether he has the same stance on Salman Butt, Mohammad Amir, and Mohammad Asif.

“I have zero tolerance for those who fix matches, and I am absolutely clear on my stance.”

Mohammad Amir, who served his punishment for spot-fixing charges in 2010, returned to the side but was left out of the team under Raja’s tenure.
