PCB chairman Najam Sethi will be conveyed a clear message in the next meeting of the ACC.

The Melbourne Cricket Club, who manage the MCG, and the Victorian government have spoken to Cricket Australia for hosting a Test match between India and Pakistan at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground after the T20 World Cup contest between the two teams.

While speaking on SEN radio on Day 4 of the ongoing Test between Australia and South Africa, MCC chief executive Stuart Fox revealed that MCC and the Victorian government made an inquiry to Cricket Australia for hosting India and Pakistan at a neutral venue.

The two teams haven’t played a Test against each other since 2007 and have played a bilateral series since 2013.

More than 90,000 fans witnessed the classic game in the World Cup.

“We have spoken to Cricket Australia and even the government is involved. However, things are not that easy due to packed international schedule. It is a big challenge to bring those two teams together at the Melbourne Cricket Ground,” he said.

“We want to cater to all the countries not just to Australia. Hopefully, Cricket Australia will speak to the ICC and keep pushing for it. It will be good to have a full house,” he added.

A CA spokesperson confirmed to ESPNcricinfo that BCCI and PCB hold the rights but Cricket Australia is ready to host India and Pakistan.
