Virat Kohli, who was looking cool and calm in the Indian Premier League 2024, finally showed his angry side in the game between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens. Kohli was caught by the bowler on a full toss and the on-field umpire declared him out.

Kohli took a DRS because he thought the ball was above the waist. He didn’t get any respite from the third umpire as well. The veteran was disappointed and headed back to the dugout.

However, he returned to argue with the umpires and was even seen abusing one of them. One of the officials was shocked by Kohli’s behavior, and by the time he could react, the batter had turned his back.

He scored 18 runs off 7 balls, laced with 2 sixes and 1 four.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) could take action against Virat as aggressive behaviour with the officials is not permitted. Virat has been fined in the past, but he has calmed down in the last few years.

Meanwhile, former India players Harbhajan Singh and Wasim Jaffer were unsatisfied with the decision and felt Kohli was unlucky.

“The ball was above the waist height and Kohli shouldn’t have been given out. I am not satisfied with the decision. He is unlucky,” Harbhajan Singh said.

“It was a wrong decision by the umpires as ball was clearly above the waist height. The ball was dipping but it was still a no ball,” Wasim Jaffer said.
