Former cricketer Aakash Chopra gave his verdict on the high intense clash of Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans.

The Delhi Capitals set a target of 225 runs for the Titans in Delhi on Wednesday, April 24. Despite Sudharsan smashing a quick 65 off just 39 balls, the Titans fell short, finishing with 220 runs for 8 wickets when their 20 overs ended, losing the match by 4 runs.

Aakash Chopra has praised Gujarat Titans batter Sai Sudharsan for his unwavering consistency in the IPL 2024 season.

“Shubman Gill was dismissed yet again by Anrich Nortje, continuing their lopsided matchup. The batting lineup lacks depth beyond the captain, as we’ve noted repeatedly. However, Wriddhiman Saha played a valiant innings this time. Sai Sudharsan is the second name for consistency.” he stated.

“He is playing extremely well, excelling at spin bowling by using a variety of backfoot strokes. His interception was precise. Delaying the shot allows playing late, while hitting early enables directing towards cover. He adeptly plays both off and onside and intersects the gaps against fast bowling with a straight bat,” he added.

After GT skipper Gill departed, Sai Sudharsan and Wriddhiman Saha (39 off 25) stitched a partnership of 82 runs for the second wicket. The southpaw smacked 65 runs including 7 fours and two sixes.

Chopra also lauded David Miller for his fearless innings of 55 in 23 deliveries, which worried the DC bowlers.

“Saha and Sai Sudharsan were dismissed in quick succession. David Miller then came to the crease. Nicknamed “Mr. Thriller”, Miller boasts impressive statistics in run chases. If he wasn’t dismissed, Miller would have steered his team to victory. His clean striking brought the target within reach, so he was well-positioned to seal the win,” he concluded.
