After the MI bench signaled for a review, the on-field umpire called a wide despite Curran’s complaint, prompting the review. This decision left fans furious as they questioned the umpiring standards throughout the league this season.
The dubious behavior on the pitch left some fans bewildered and they questioned the behaviour of the fans.
“When the batter moved outside the off stump, I thought the line had shifted with him,” commentator Murali Kartik said on air, questioning umpire Menon’s decision to call a wide in favor of the MI batter despite the ball’s close proximity.
