Dinesh Karthik has comeback to life in international cricket. He was looking down and out after the 2019 World Cup in England and was completely ignored by the national selectors.
However, he fought his way back through the Indian Premier League 2022 where he was unstoppable for Royal Challengers Bangalore.
He is currently the best finisher of the Men in Blue in the shortest format of the game.
Earlier, he failed to justify his selection despite being talented and was often dropped from the team after a few games.
Former India player Saba Karim feels previous team management failed to give him clarity regarding his role. Karim didn’t take the names but he was talking about MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli, who failed to get the best out of the Tamil Nadu-based batter.
“He was falling behind because there was no clarity regarding his role. Karthik had no idea whether to go for shots or take singles. He has a clear role now and that is why he is dealing in runs. Credit goes to Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid.”
