Former India player Harbhajan Singh has hailed the 30-year-old India pacer for his phenomenal bowling in the Indian Premier League 2024. Sandeep Sharma has been dealing in wickets since returning from an injury to play for Rajasthan Royals. He took five wickets against Mumbai Indians and won the game for his side. The right-arm pacer was named the Playe of the Match. In the latest game against Lucknow Super Giants, he took two wickets and was the most impactful bowler for RR.
He conceded just 31 usn from his four overs. Harbhajan lauded Sandeep for his magnificent effort with the ball in Lucknow. “He is the most underrated player in the tournament. Sandeep Sharma is not a superstar because we don’t talk about him. The day we start giving him importance, he will become a superstar.
“No matter which team he plays for in the Indian Premier League, his performances never dip. Sandeep has been doing this for years now. The batters have failed to pick up his variations. He is also a brilliant fielder,” Harbhajan Singh said.
Several Indian greats have named him in their Team India’s squad for the ICC T20 World Cup. The slow pitches in the West Indies and the USA will suit his bowling style.
He has taken 8 wickets in four matches at an average of 13.37 and an economy rate of 7.15.
