Virender Sehwag Virat Kohli
He was punished by the BCCI with a fine of 50 percent of his match fees.

Virat Kohli’s dismissal on Harshit Rana’s high full toss is still hogging the limelight. The veteran has been fined 50 percent of his match fees for arguing and abusing the umpires. Kohli was not out in his own eyes, but the on-field umpire and the third official didn’t rule in his favour. He scored 18 runs off 7 balls, including 2 sixes and 1 four.

Navjot Singh Sidhu, Harbhajan Singh, Varun Aaron and Mohammad Kaif slammed the umpires for their decision. However, the technology proved Virat and the former India players wrong.

Irfan Pathan, who was sure that Kohli was out, once again explained the controversial call. “Harshit bowled a slower delivery, which dipped. Kohli was standing outside the crease and the rules are pretty clear. If a batter stands outside the crease, it doesn’t mean the waist height will be measured from that point. The waist height is taken from the crease.

“If it would have been a fast delivery, the umpires would have declared Virat Kohli not out as this kind of a delivery doesn’t dip as compared to the slower one. Virat had to go back because of the slower ball,” Irfan Pathan said.

Meanwhile, KKR won the game by 1 run to script their fifth win of the season. They are second in the points table.

On the other hand, RCB are out of the playoff race, having lost 7 games and won just 1 contest.
