Delhi Capitals defeated Mumbai Indians by 10 runs to register their fifth win in the Indian Premier League. Batting first, the Capitals posted 257 runs and restricted MI to 247. However, there was a lot of drama in the last two overs of Mumbai’s chase. Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya were seen arguing with the fourth official.

The two wanted the on-field umpires to punish Delhi Capitals for the slow-rate offence. According to these two, Delhi failed to complete 20 overs on time and should have been penalized, with only four fielders instead of five outside the thirty-yard circle.

This could have helped Mumbai in their chase. However, the fourth official refused to entertain their request and was seen explaining.

Sharma and Pandya looked angry and didn’t buy what was told to them. Earlier, Hardik shouted at the umpire for not warning the DC batters for wasting time before taking the strike. Hardik was worried about getting penalized for the slow-rate offence.

Meanwhile, Pandya won the toss and invited the Capitals to bat first. Jake Fraser-McGurk (84 off 27), Tristan Stubbs (48 off 25 balls), and Shai Hope (41 off 17) took the hosts to 257/4.

Mumbai lost Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, and Suryakumar Yadav early in their chase. But Hardik Pandya (46 off 24), Tilak Varma (63 off 32), and Tim David (37 off 17) went hard against the bowlers. However, the remaining batters couldn’t add crucial runs, and the franchise lost another game.
