Bhajji urged the BCCI to allow bowlers to bowl six bouncers in an over to save themselves from the brutal hammering by the batters.
“It’s high time that bowlers are allowed to bowl six bouncers, as that’s the only way to survive in IPL. I know a rule of two bouncers per over was introduced this season, but it hasn’t made much difference. It is challenging for the ones who have a ball in their hands. They are being hit to every part of the ground despite coming up with good deliveries. The batters have become fearless, and they don’t play to survive or keep their wickets intact. Their only aim is to hit the ball into the stands even if they get out.
“The scores we are seeing this season in the new template of T20 cricket. Batters are going to come hard at the bowlers as the other players in the team can cause damage in the middle and death overs. Klaasen didn’t score against Delhi, and you can imagine what the score would have been had he clicked. He is the most dangerous batter in T20 at the moment,” Harbhajan Singh said on Star Sports.
