Mumbai Indians pacer Trent Boult said the total of over 300 runs is possible in the Indian Premier League 2025. The left-arm pacer acknowledged the difficulties bowlers have encountered recently, but he is still optimistic that some parts of India may offer early swing in the tournament’s 18th edition.
When SRH defeated RR in the opening match of IPL 2025, they scored 286 runs, the second-highest total in the league’s history. However, since that game, no other team has been able to cross the 280-run mark.
“There’s no doubt a score of over 300 will be reached in this tournament. The ball appears to be travelling further, although I think it’s still swinging in certain parts of the country,” Boult said.
He mentioned the aggressive batting strategy is giving opportunities to the bowlers to take wickets. He emphasised that aggression, accuracy, and attention are important for bowlers to succeed. Boult thinks spectators like bowlers domination.
“From a bowler’s point of view, the aggression of the batters provide wicket-taking opportunities. If the bowlers are accurate and aggressive, they will pick you up wickets. Fans want to see bowlers taking wickets,” he added.
