LSG vs CSK match preponed by a day

Lucknow Super Giants were supposed to host Chennai Super Kings for their 10th game of the IPL 16 on May 4.  However, due to the mayor’s election in Lucknow on the same date, the match has now been preponed by a day.

Since the police officials would not be able to provide the required security officials to look after the safety of the players on May 4th, the BCCI had to re-schedule the match for May 3rd. The Ekana Stadium will host the game which will begin at 3:00 pm.

“Since it is an afternoon game, there would be issues with the security deployment for the upcoming game, which is why we have decided to prepone the game by a day,” said a BCCI source.

The move might be a disadvantage for the Super Giants because earlier they had two days of rest to prepare for the game against the Men in Yellow, but now they would play their second game within 48 hours. Notably, LSG will host RCB on May 1, before facing CSK at the Ekana Stadium on May 3.

Lucknow Super Giants have got off to a good start this season. The KL Rahul-led side have played five games in which they emerged victorious on three occasions. CSK, on the other side, have won two games out of four matches. LSG are 2nd on the table, and CSK are 6th with four points.
