CrickToday is looking to hire a Sub Editor with journalism and/or sub-editing experience to work with our existing team of technology policy reporters. This is a specialized field, so please read the post below, before applying, and please follow the application process detailed below.
Job Description:
The candidate must be a Sports lover, with vast knowledge of the cricket game, Know how to create short and long-form content, its numbers, news, and opinions on the same is a must, and have good knowledge of how playing cricket works.
Responsibilities:
Research and write compelling articles, features, news stories, and opinion pieces on a wide range of sports topics on cricket
Stay updated on the latest developments, matches, events, and trends in the world of cricket, and generate unique content ideas.
Collaborate with the editorial team to brainstorm and plan content strategies to drive audience engagement and growth.
Ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to editorial guidelines in all written content.
Optimize content for SEO to improve visibility and ranking on search engines.
Contribute to social media content creation and engage with our audience across various platforms.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, English, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Cricket writer or content creator.
Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with impeccable grammar and attention to detail.
Passion for cricket, and a deep understanding of the game, its rules, players, teams, and history.
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt to fast-paced environments.
Proficiency in SEO best practices and familiarity with content management systems (CMS) is a plus.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
What we’re looking for
Location: Delhi. If you’re not in Delhi, you’re required to work from office, in South Delhi (Okhla)
Experience:
1-3 years of experience in Sports as a sub-editor.
Preference will be given to candidates with online work experience.
Skills
A high standard of Editorial judgment and writing ability based on substantial experience of editing news stories and features.
A team player with exceptional interpersonal skills, ability to resolve conflicts, and willingness to get the job done.
Excellent project and time management skills, ability to multi-task and ensure tasks are completed on time
Excellent command of the English as well as Hindi language.
Comfort with working cross-platform, whether Slack, WhatsApp, and/or phone calls.
Remuneration: INR 15,000 – 22,000 per month
