Yuzvendra Chahal was at the receiving end in Match 50 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season.

Yuzvendra Chahal was at the receiving end in Match 50 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season. The Rajasthan Royals spinner went on to concede 62 runs from his four overs against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Chahal, who is the competition’s highest wicket-taker with 200 scalps, had a bad outing as he clocked the most expensive spell by an Indian spinner in the history of IPL.

Chahal also registered the second-costliest spell by a spinner overall in the cash-rich league. Afghanistan youngster Mujeeb your Rahman holds the record among spinners, giving away 66 runs for the Punjab Kings against SRH in the IPL 2019 season. Mujeeb clocked 0/66 in that contest.

Batting first, SRH recovered from a slow start to score 201/3 in 20 overs. Travis Head scored a fine fifty as Nitish Reddy showed his prowess with an unbeaten 76. Heinrich Klaasen provided fireworks with an unbeaten 42. In response, RR fell short by a run in a thrilling contest, which saw Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismiss Rovman Powell from the final ball of the run-chase. RR scored 200/7 in 20 overs. RR were 1/2 before Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag added 134 runs. SRH responded to clinch a thrilling contest. Here, we present Indian spinners with the most runs conceded in an IPL innings.
