They went for a different player in the auction and even refused to accept Singhas, their player, after buying him. However, the auctioneer turned down their appeal, and they had no choice but to keep him.
When Punjab Kings were trolled on social media, they claimed that he was the same Shashnak they were bidding for to save their face. Actually, two players with the same led to confusion, and the Kings bought the wrong guy, thinking he was the one they wanted.
Meanwhile, they do not regret now as he has been their best player, and the team could have won several matches had he gotten support from other batters in IPL 2024. Ashutosh Sharma has stitched match-winning partnerships with him, but they were never going to be enough.
In the game against Kolkata Knight Riders, PBKS won the game by completing a world record chase. The target was 262, and the visitors won the game by 8 wickets and 19.4 overs.
Jonny Bairstow slammed a hundred, while Singh accumulated 68 of 28. He hit 8 sixes and 2 fours. His 84-run partnership with Bairstow won the game for the side.
