Kumble said that Kohli has been relentless in his pursuit of excellence
Kohli has 634 runs to his name from 12 matches

According to Anil Kumble, the supporters of the Indian cricket team would want Virat Kohli to carry on with the momentum from his IPL 2024 form to the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Kohli starred in RCB’s 4th straight win as he continued to score runs this season, amassing 92 runs off only 47 balls against Punjab Kings. In Dharamsala, the star batter’s innings turned out to be the deciding factor.

In the Orange Cap rankings, Kohli remained in complete control as RCB defeated the opposition by a margin of sixty runs. With an average of 70.44 and a strike rate of 153.51, the batting ace has already amassed 634 runs in 12 games. For the T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the USA, Kohli will be a crucial member of the Indian team.

Speaking to JioCinema, Kumble stated that Kohli has been seeking excellence relentlessly and has been in outstanding form. In the forthcoming ICC tournament, the former spinner forecasts that Kohli would maintain his current form.

“Yes, without a doubt. He’s been playing exceptionally well. After a little hiatus prior to the IPL, he has been consistent in his quest for greatness. With 634 runs, he leads the table, thus it makes sense that RCB would want him to win the next two matches in order to potentially qualify. However, you would like this form to continue in the World Cup as well, for India’s benefit,” opined Kumble.

A funny moment occurred in the match when Kohli reacted in a hilarious way in response to Rilee Rossouw’s rifle celebration. Shane Watson claimed that Kohli is actively involved in every aspect of the game and was taking a jab at the PBKS batter.

“He’s involved in the game, and Rossouw didn’t show anything like that. Virat gave it back to Rossouw in style . Additionally, it was a crucial moment in the game,” said Watson.

“Kohli is involved in every ball of the game and he never missing an opportunity. And he was definitely aware of Rossouw’s  celebration,” Watson remarked.

Kohli showcased his agility on the pitch when he ran-out Shashank Singh. On May 12, RCB will meet  DC at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
