According to MI batting coach Kieron Pollard, Jasprit Bumrah will not get a break from the remaining IPL games. Pollard stated that he was not aware of any talks regarding Bumrah’s rest prior to of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

There isn’t much time for the players to recharge between the World Cup beginning on June 1 and the IPL ending on May 26. Several fans on social media expressed that the teams should rest their star India players from the final leg.

When asked if MI had any intentions to rest Bumrah for the next two matches ahead of the global tournament, Pollard responded, “I absolutely have no information about that,” he said.

“I don’t believe that is my duty. But let’s wait and see. The full IPL is what we are all here to play. Sometimes, planning too long in advance for various events, such as World Cups, can have an impact on performances even before the team is picked,” he continued.

According to Pollard, their main objective is to focus on performing well in the Indian Premier League.

“The main objective in our camp is to finish the IPL and then wait to see what happens. Maybe, he’ll rest when he leaves the IPL and joins the Indian team,” Pollard remarked.

On May 17, MI will take on the Lucknow Super Giants at home in their final IPL match. Bumrah will have a week before the team departs for the USA if MI don’t not qualify. With four victories from their twelve games this season, MI are currently ranked ninth in the Indian Premier League standings.

Bumrah was out of action since September 2022. He underwent surgery in March 2023 for a stress fracture in his back. He also missed the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia and the Indian Premier League 2023.
