The match between Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad is halfway through at the Chepauk Stadium. The visitors, batting first, had a difficult time at the pitch, as the Men in Orange posted just 134/7 runs on the board.
Ravindra Jadeja took a three-wicket haul, while other bowlers also bowled in tight areas. Besides the bowlers, skipper MS Dhoni had a great time on the field, as the 41-year-old was involved in three dismissals.
Notably, captain cool produced a stumping, run-out, and took a catch. With three dismissals, MS Dhoni became the first wicket-keeper in the history of IPL to complete 200 dismissals (Catch + stumping + run-out).
In 240 IPL games, MS has 137 catches, 40 stumpings and 23 run-outs to his name. In the ongoing tie, Dhoni first took Aiden Markram’s catch off Ravindra Jadeja’s bowling. Next, he turned back the clock and produced a vintage stumping to get rid of Mayank Agarwal. Lastly, the CSK skipper ran out Washington Sundar on the last ball of the 20th over.
Besides this feat, MSD surpassed South Africa‘s Quinton de Kock for the most catches in T20 cricket. Before the game, MS and de Kock were the joint record holder with 207 catches, but Dhoni is now the sole holder of this feat.
