Cricket fans worldwide are excited as Cricket Australia (CA) has revealed the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) Team of the Tournament. The coveted XI features three exceptional Indian players – Ravindra Jadeja, Rishabh Pant, and Ravichandran Ashwin, who have repeatedly proved their mettle on the pitch.

Jadeja, the all-rounder extraordinaire, has scalped an incredible 43 wickets in just 12 games. His performance included three stunning fifers during the WTC cycle. Not only that, but he has also managed to amass 673 runs, with two centuries and three half-centuries to his name.

Ashwin has played 13 matches, taking 61 wickets, including two fifers. Recently, he and Jadeja were awarded Players of the Tournament in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy jointly. They picked up 25 and 22 wickets, respectively. The dynamic duo will now look to replicate their form and guide Team India to victory in the WTC final against Australia at the Oval in London this June.

Ashwin and Jadeja’s significance for Team India in the WTC final cannot be overstated. Both players have a decent record in England, having taken 18 and 23 wickets in seven and 11 Tests, respectively. They are also handy with the bat in the lower order.

Rishabh Pant, the swashbuckling left-handed batsman, also found a place in the XI, despite missing out on the Border-Gavaskar Trophy due to a life-threatening injury. However, the young prodigy has scored an impressive 868 runs in 12 games, including two tons and five half-centuries during the ongoing championship cycle.

Meanwhile, there was no place for Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli, who have scored over 800 runs in WTC.

Australia has meanwhile announced a 17-member squad for the final. As the anticipation builds, cricket enthusiasts eagerly await the face-off between two of the world’s best teams in what promises to be a thrilling WTC final.
