The 16th edition of the IPL is less than a week away, with Chennai Super Kings taking on defending champions Gujarat Titans on March 31. Ahead of the forthcoming season, several teams dealt with heavy blows as they got struck with injuries.
Recently, KKR got hit by three injuries, including their skipper, Shreyas Iyer. In the latest development, Lucknow Super Giants dealt a major blow as their star bowler Mohsin Khan is doubtful for the IPL owing to an injury, which has not been disclosed by the franchise.
Notably, the 24-year-old is practising with the franchise at their base camp, but LSG are doubtful whether Mohsin will be able to play this season.
Notably, Khan rose to fame in his debut season last year, when he took 14 wickets in just nine games for his franchise and helped them reach the playoffs.
Also, Chennai dealt a significant blow, as their star left-arm seamer Mukesh Choudhary, who led the attack last year in Deepak Chahar’s absence, will likely miss the forthcoming season due to a back injury.
Choudhary, who took 16 wickets in 13 games last year, is at the NCA undergoing rehabilitation for his injury. Meanwhile, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan stated that it is unlikely that Choudhary plays in the upcoming season.
“We are waiting for Mukesh but are not much hopeful. He was one of our best bowlers last year, but it is unfortunate if he misses out.”
