The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has suspended Kolkata Knight Riders’ pacer Harshit Rana for breaching the IPL code of conduct. He will miss the next game against Mumbai Indians on May 3.

Rana has also been fined 100 percent of his match fees for his offence against Delhi Capitals on Monday at Eden Gardens. It was Rana’s second breach under Article 2.5 in the 17th season of the tournament, leading to a suspension for one match.

The players are not allowed to use a language and perform actions or gestures which could provoke an aggressive reaction from the rival batter or bowler.

The incident happened when Harshit bowled Abhishek Porel on the fourth ball of the seventh over.

Rana was seen gesturing for Porel to walk back towards the dugout. He also wanted to blew a flying kiss but stopped mid-way, realising that he was fined for the same incident earlier in the cash-rich league.
