Kohli, who made his IPL debut in the inaugural 2008 campaign, became the first player in IPL 2024 to reach 500 runs. For the seventh time now, the 35-year-old batter has scored 500-plus runs, equalling the record of David Warner.
Kohli attained the 500-run mark feat in Match 45 of the IPL 2024 season against Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad. He scored a neat 44-ball 70* as RCB chased down a 201-run target in just 16 overs. Will Jacks starred for RCB in a 41-ball 100*, reaching from his half-century to a century off 10 balls. RCB completed the fastest chase of a 200-plus target in IPL history courtesy of Kohli and Jacks, who shared a telling 166*-run stand for the second wicket, which is RCB’s fourth-highest.
