Mayank Yadav was out of action due to an injury. The fastest Indian bowler missed five matches in the Indian Premier League 2024 after injuring himself in a contest against Gujarat Titans in Lucknow. His comeback against Mumbai Indians was short-lived as he picked up another fitness issue in the 19th over of MI innings.

After dismissing Mohammad Nabi on the first ball, the speedster couldn’t carry on and left the field. The remaining five deliveries were bowled by Naveen Ul Haq.

The young pacer has a history of injuries. He didn’t play for Lucknow before the 17th season due to injuries. He has been with the franchise for a few years.

Yadav made his debut against Punjab Kings and took three wickets. He was named the Player of the Match for his match-winning effort. In the next game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, he repeated the three-wicket haul performance and was given his second POTM award.

He impressed everyone with his pace and hard line and length. He clocked 156.7 against RCB. The selectors wanted him for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 but his injury prone body forced the wise men to look for other options.
