Wriddhiman Saha major goof-up
Saha explained the reason behind the delay.

The match between Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans is halfway through at the PCA Stadium. The hosts, batting first, had a dismal performance with the bat for the second straight time, as the Shikhar Dhawan-led side put just 153/8 on the board.

Matt Short was the top scorer for his side with 36(24), but Punjab enjoyed their best run when Jitesh Sharma and Bhanuka Rajapaksa were batting together.

When the duo stitched a 37-run stand, Gujarat keeper Wriddhiman Saha pulled an MS Dhoni-like move, where the 38-year-old convinced his skipper to take a review despite Hardik and bowler Mohit Sharma not being confident about any edge.

During the 13th over of the match, Jitesh nicked the ball, but the umpire was unmoved by Saha’s appeal and kept his finger down. Meanwhile, Mohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya also conveyed that they did not hear anything but Saha convinced Hardik to take a review at the last second, which eventually went in Gujarat’s favour. Here is the video of the incident.

Notably, MS Dhoni performed a similar move during CSK’s match against Mumbai Indians, where the CSK skipper took a successful review to dismiss Suryakumar Yadav, who was given not-out by the on-field umpire.

In the ongoing game, Saha had a brilliant time at the field, as he was involved in 1 direct hit, 1 run-out, 1 catch and one successful DRS.
