The much-awaited final between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium has been delayed due to heavy rain and hailstorms in Ahmedabad. In case the rain continues to pour down past 9:40, then there will be a reduced play, and the deadline for a five-over game is 11:56.
If the rain continues to come down after 11:56, the match will go into a reserve day, which is tomorrow. While the fans are worried about the heavy precipitation, GT players Shubman Gill and Mohammed Shami enjoyed their time in the rain, as the duo were seen having fun amid the hailstorms.
IPL shared a video on their Twitter handle where Shami and Gill could be seen catching the hailstones and sharing a laugh about it.
Shubman Gill has been excellent with the bat, as he is the leading runs scorer this season with 851 runs and eyes Virat Kohli’s record for most runs in a single IPL season (973).
Meanwhile, Mohammed Shami also tops the chart for the leading wicket-taker this season, as the right-arm quick has 28 wickets in 16 games and is followed by his teammate Rashid Khan, who has 27 scalps in 16 matches.
