Chennai Super Kings (CSK) pacer Tushar Deshpande became the worst bowler in the history of the Indian Premier League. He conceded the most runs in an IPL season, with 564 runs in the 16th season of the tournament. Deshpande was hammered for 56 runs in four overs during the IPL 2023 final between CSK and Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium on May 29.
Tushar surpassed Prasidh Krishna, who leaked 551 runs in the 2022 season at an average economy of 8.28. In 16 games, the CSK seamer recorded an economy of 9.92, despite taking 21 wickets.
Dwayne Bravo, who is the current bowling coach of the Yellow Army, conceded 533 runs in 2018. Bravo is fifth on the unwanted list and has the worst economy among the bowlers, with 9.96.
GT posted 214 runs in their 20 overs, with Sai Sudharsan amassing 47-ball 96. Wriddhiman Saha’s 54 off 39 balls kept the team ahead in the contest.
