The first qualifier between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans is underway at the Chepauk Stadium. The hosts, batting first, had their hearts in the mouth for a few minutes after a young Darshan Nalkande got Ruturaj Gaikwad’s wicket in the 2nd over.
Darshan, who is playing his first game of the season, came into the attack in the 2nd over and took Gaikwad’s wicket on the 3rd ball, as the CSK opener mistimed a shot straight into Shubman Gill’s hands. Much to GT’s disappointment, Ruturaj got lucky, as Nalkande overstepped, resulting in a no-ball.
Amid the heartbreak for Darshan, Hardik Pandya won fans’ hearts after he was seen smiling and encouraging the youngster not to be upset instead of losing his cool over the right-arm seamer. Here are some of the fans’ reactions.
However, few fans did not like Hardik’s gesture and called Pandya’s gesture a fake move.
Notably, Pandya has not been bowling for the past few games, as he has a bit of an issue with the back.
