In the first qualifier between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans at the Chepauk Stadium, CSK, batting first, put 172/7 on the board courtesy of an 87-run opening stand between Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway.

Chasing 173, Gujarat Titans were in deep trouble as they completed 100 runs in the 15th over and lost six wickets. Shubman Gill, who was eyeing to become the first player to score three consecutive IPL tons, was the only positive with the bat for his 42 (38).

Gill’s innings was laced with four fours and a six. With his 42 runs innings, Shubman completed 700 runs this season and scripted a massive IPL record.
