The Men in Blue have arrived in Guwahati for the first of the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka after beating the Dasun Shanaka men 2-1 in the T20I format.
On the eve of the first ODI, India dealt a heavy blow as bowling spearhead Jasprit Bumrah got ruled out of the tour over fitness concerns, meaning added responsibilities on the shoulders of Mohammed Shami and other young seamers.
Speaking of Mohammed Shami, the 32-year-old dropped a new photo on his social media accounts, where the fans reminded him of Rishabh Pant’s accident.
In his latest click, Shami posted his picture alongside his new Jaguar car. Notably, Shami bought the car last year. He wrote, “Some journeys need no roads, only willing hearts.”
The fans reacted positively to his news but also reminded him to drive carefully, citing Rishabh Pant, who suffered a fatal car crash while returning home for New Year.
Rishabh Pant recently underwent a successful knee injury for the severe ligament tear he sustained following the crash. The 25-year-old, admitted to Mumbai’s Kokilaben Hospital, will undergo another surgery soon for the same knee and is most likely to miss the World Cup.
