Former England captain Eoin Morgan praised the LSG batsmen and commented that it is not easy for the batters to bat when the skipper KL Rahul is in poor form. According to Morgan, the LSG line-up is strong, and he praised Kyle Mayers, Marcus Stoinis, Ayush Badoni, and Nicholas Pooran for stepping up when Rahul could not deliver with the bat.
Marcus Stoinis and Kyle Mayers scored quick-fire half-centuries to lead LSG in Mohali, which allowed youngster Ayush Badoni to chip in with 43 off 24 balls. Nicholas Pooran entered the action and capitalized on the chance to knock 45 off 19 deliveries.
Former Indian wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel said, “The Lucknow side is balanced. The openers are in great touch, and KL Rahul scores frequently.” Patel defended KL Rahul by saying that the batter has been getting runs despite talk of his strike rate.
During the discussion, Patel stated that if Deepak Hooda finds his groove, the Lucknow side would be a solid contender in the IPL.
“When Ayush Badoni is flexible with his batting. Pooran and Stoinis are two finishers with an amazing track record. As we saw today, there were nine bowlers in action. Everyone is capable of doing something,” he added.
