Sanjay Manjrekar feels KL Rahul would like to prove to the selectors that he hasn’t lost the hunger for the runs.

Rahul was originally not picked for the three-match series in Zimbabwe, but he was added after passing the fitness test.

During an interaction on the Sports 18 show ‘Sports Over the Top’, Manjrekar was asked about the importance of the series.

“The spotlight will be on KL Rahul as he is coming back after a long time and needs runs ahead of the Asia Cup 2022 and ICC T20 World Cup 2022. he would like to prove to the selectors that he hasn’t lost his hunger for runs,” said Sanjay Manjrekar.

Rahul has not played any competitive cricket since the Indian Premier League 2022. First, he got injured and was then diagnosed with COVID-19.

Manjrekar further said that Rahul should open the innings along with Shikhar Dhawan in Zimbabwe.
