During a Q&A session, Rajasthan Royals (RR) star Jos Buttler lauded Quinton de Kock and said that the South African wicketkeeper is his current favourite cricketer. Jos Buttler is currently preparing for the upcoming IPL 2021 and will be representing Rajasthan Royals.
In a video uploaded on RR’s official Twitter handle, the English wicketkeeper-batsman responded to questions from his fans. A fan asked about his current favourite cricketer, to which he replied, “My current favourite player, I’d probably say is Quinton De Kock.”
“He is a South African wicket keeping-batsman, obviously for me someone I look to the way he plays. I love the free spirit he plays with. I think left-handers always look better than right-handers as well,” he added.
de Kock, who is currently with the South African team for the first two ODIs against Pakistan, will feature for Mumbai Indians (MI) in the upcoming season of the IPL. IPL 2021 is set to begin on April 9.
In the opening match, MI will take on RCB in Chennai. RR, on the other hand, will be up against Punjab Kings in their first match on April 12. Buttler to name “one player from outside England who would fit perfectly in your national team?”
Responding to the question, Buttler said that he would love to see Australian pacer Pat Cummins represent the Three Lions. The lanky Aussie will be playing for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in IPL 2021.
“I think I’d go for Pat Cummins. I think Pat Cummins is one of the premier fast bowlers in the world at the moment, in all formats of the game. I’d love to see him operate alongside Jofra Archer for England. That would be a pretty intimidating bowling line-up. So, I’m going say Pat Cummins for that one,” said Jos Buttler.
