West Indian stalwart Chris Gayle never leaves any chance to keep his fans entertained both on and off the field. He is unarguably one of the greatest batsmen in world cricket. He has played a crucial role in the popularity of franchise cricket. He has been seen in action in various T20 tournaments across the world – Indian Premier League, Pakistan Super League, Bangladesh Premier League, and Big Bash League.
Gayle, who is currently plying his trade for the Quetta Gladiators in PSL 2021, was recently involved in a Q&A session with ESPNCricinfo where he answered a plethora of queries related to his personal and professional life.
During the interaction, the Universe Boss was asked to name the top three players of his T20 XI. Replying to the question, Gayle named the likes of Nicholas Pooran, Andre Russell, and Rohit Sharma.
While the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) all-rounder, Russell, has a strike rate of 182.33 in the IPL, with 129 sixes and 105 boundaries to his name, Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper, Rohit, is the fourth-highest run-getter in the cash-rich league behind the likes of Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, and David Warner.
On the other hand, Pooran notched up 353 runs in 14 IPL games last year, representing KL Rahul-led Kings XI Punjab.
Meanwhile, when the 41-year-old was asked to name his favourite cricket ground to hit the sixes, he went to pick M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.
Notably, Gayle will next be seen in action during the 14th edition of IPL.
