After the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) defeated the Punjab Kings (PBKS), Aakash Chopra believes that the top four teams in the points table are likely to keep their positions.
LSG imposed a record-breaking target of 258 for PBKS in Mohali on Friday. They defeated the home team by 56 runs. The Rajasthan Royals, Lucknow Super Giants, Gujarat Titans, and Chennai Super Kings occupy the top four spots in the points table with 10 points apiece and are placed in that order based on their net run rates.
While speaking about the game, Chopra believes that there would be fewer changes in the points table regarding the top four teams, and these teams would feature in the playoffs of this tournament.
The former Indian batsman also commented on LSG’s batting performance after Atharva Taide dropped KL Rahul on the first ball. He said, “Rahul could have departed on the first ball. He went on to hit a six and then got out. Kyle Mayers was fired up, and young Ayush Badoni joined him too. Stoinis and Pooran were in a raiding mode as well.”
Marcus Stoinis was the LSG’s top scorer and smashed 72 runs in 40 balls. Kyle Mayers (54 off 24), Nicholas Pooran (45 off 19), and Ayush Badoni (43 off 24) batted smartly and took the score to 267.
