He may have retired from international cricket, but MS Dhoni‘s popularity continues to soar. The Chennai Super Kings skipper recently made a dream come true for his oldest fan – an 88-year-old woman who hero-worships the cricketing legend.

The octogenarian fan, the mother-in-law of famous Indian actor Khushbu Sundar, couldn’t contain her tears of joy as Dhoni paid a surprise visit to her house in Chennai. And Khushbu took to Twitter to express her gratitude for Dhoni’s kindness and hospitality.

“Heroes are not made. They are born. Dhoni proves that. I am at a loss for words for our CSK #Thala @msdhoni for his warmth & hospitality. He met my mother-in-law, who, at 88, cannot see beyond him. Mahi, you have added many years of good health & happiness to her life,” Khushbu tweeted.

The 41-year-old has been in fine form in the ongoing IPL, even giving his elderly fan a batting masterclass, smashing an unbeaten 32 off 17 balls to almost single-handedly lead the Super Kings to victory against Rajasthan Royals.

“MSD’s talent on the pitch is well known, but his generosity and kindness off the pitch makes him a true hero,” said one fan. There’s no stopping Dhoni, who has already hit 58 runs in three innings at a staggering strike rate of almost 215, including six sixes and two fours.

With his latest heartwarming gesture, it’s clear that MS Dhoni will continue to rule the hearts of his fans for years to come.
