no jersey sponsor for India

Rohit Sharma-led India will be without a jersey sponsor for the WTC final against Australia at the Oval. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has failed to find a brand that could sponsor India. Byju’s, who was the previous sponsor, exited the deal in March.

It is unusual not to have any sponsor for the mega-match. Due to the financial losses, Byju’s canceled the deal with the BCCI midway.

The BCCI has not issued any tender after failing to find satisfactory answers from offline negotiations with big business houses in India.

“It would only be fitting that Indian cricket engages with prestigious and long-term partners rather than going for low-key deals,” a BCCI official told Hindustan Times.
