MS Dhoni
Zaheer Khan, Suresh Raina and Parthiv Patel spoke about CSK captain MS Dhoni and his trust in processes, his interests and his successor.

MS Dhoni, the captain of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), holds the record for most IPL finals appearances, both as a captain and as a player. This means he has been involved in the most tosses in IPL finals.

As the captain of CSK, Dhoni has participated in nine IPL finals. In these nine matches, he has correctly called the toss five times and lost it on four occasions.

In 2010, when CSK faced the Mumbai Indians, Dhoni won the toss, and Chennai Super Kings went on to win the match by 22 runs. Similarly, in 2011 against the Royal Challengers Bangalore, Dhoni’s successful toss led to a convincing 58-run victory for CSK.

In the 2012 final against the Kolkata Knight Riders, Dhoni won the toss, but his team lost the match by 5 wickets. Then, in 2015, CSK faced the Mumbai Indians once again. Despite Dhoni winning the toss, Mumbai Indians emerged victorious by 41 runs.

In the 2018 final against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, Dhoni’s successful toss played a part in Chennai Super Kings‘ comfortable 8-wicket win.

Out of the nine IPL finals Dhoni has participated in, CSK has won four titles. Interestingly, three out of these four victories came when Dhoni won the toss at the start of the match. However, in the 2021 IPL, Dhoni lost the toss but still managed to lead his team to the IPL title.
