India will be one of the favourites in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024. The national selection committee headed by Ajit Agarkar will soon pick the 15-member squad. The wicket-keeper’s slot has several contenders, with Rishabh Pant leading the race.

Rinku Singh and Shivam Dube will compete for the finisher’s role. Former cricketers feel Dube deserves to play for the Men in Blue, considering his performances for India and Chennai Super Kings.

Shivam is the leading run-scorer of the five-time champions, including three fifties in the 17th season. On the other hand, Rinku hasn’t got enough opportunities to showcase his talent in the ongoing edition.

Former India player Varun Aaron is not in favour of Shivam Dube. The Jharkhand-based cricketer feels Rinku is a much better batter than Dube.

“Shivam Dube is a safe bet, considering he can play the spinners and fast bowlers with ease. He is a better option than Dube, who often struggles against the fast bowlers. Rinku should be a part of the Playing XI and not Dube,” Varun Aaron said on Star Sports.
