Joshua Little and MS Dhoni
Joshua Little revealed why CSK might never buy him.

The mini-auction for the 2023 IPL will take place in Kochi on December 23 from 2:30 pm. A total of 405 players will go under the hammers, and only 87 slots are available for the teams, out of which 30 are for overseas players.

On the eve of the auction, T20 World Cup hat-trick hero Joshua Little, the highest T20I wicket-taker in 2022 with 39 wickets, revealed why out of all the franchises, CSK would not buy him in the auctions.

Little has had a fantastic year and came under the limelight with a sublime performance in the T20 World Cup. The cherry on top, he finished the campaign on a personal high with a hat-trick against New Zealand in their last group stage match.

The left-arm seamer has a base price of 50 lakhs, and several feel he might be the player to watch out for, including Mr IPL Suresh Raina. However, the 23-year-old Irish feels that his naive incident while being a net bowler for CSK might have cost him the chance to play under MS Dhoni’s leadership.

Little revealed that he was a net bowler for CSK and left the squad just two weeks after joining them. In interaction with Cricbuzz, he said, “I was misinformed. I was told if someone got injured, I would play, but that was not the case.”

“I went there as a net bowler, and all I would get was to bowl two overs, that too when the main bowlers got tired. Imagine being halfway across the world for two overs. I played for Ireland by then, I was playing in Lanka Premier League, T10, and it did not feel right. I was like get me out of here.”
