The Delhi Capitals (DC) are all set to kick off their IPL 2021 campaign against the three-time champions Chennai Super Kings on Saturday at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

In the absence of DC’s regular skipper Shreyas Iyer, who ruled out of the tournament due to shoulder injury, young wicketkeeper-batsman, Rishabh Pant will lead the side in the ongoing 14th edition.

Ahead of his side’s first match of IPL 2021, Iyer took to his official Twitter handle and posted a heartwarming video in which he is speaking as a fan of the Delhi-based franchise.

Dear Delhi, I speak to you today as a fellow fan of the team we love. We fight the same fight, we always did. We know it won’t be easy, but we know we’ve got what it takes to raise the cup. We have worked hard. And the best part is, we go beyond than just a team,” the 25-year-old said in the clip.

Every ball, every game, you will have me in your corner. Your biggest supporter, with the loudest cheer. Love always, Shreyas,” he added.

Under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer, DC made it to the IPL final last year in UAE. They locked horns with Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians at the Dubai International Stadium. Despite putting in their best efforts, Delhi Capitals missed their maiden title by a whisker.

However, they will go all out to clinch the elusive title in this year’s tournament.
