Babar Azam captaincy
The Pakistan captain was dismissed for just one run off 10 balls in Hambantota, but his overall record in ODI cricket this year is simply outstanding.

Pakistan captain Babar Azam has failed miserably in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup. The right-handed batter has hardly done anything in Australia and has accumulated 14 runs off 30 balls at an average of 3.50 and a strike-rate of 46.47.

The former world number one batter has recorded the second worst average in the ongoing edition.

Worst average in this T20 World Cup (min 10 runs)

Fred Klaasen – 3.33

Babar Azam – 3.50

Wanindu Hasaranga – 4

Azam has the worst strike-rate as well.

Babar – 46.47

Hasaranga – 64

Klaassen – 90.90

Pakistan have won just one game out of three so far. They started the World Cup with a defeat to India in a close match. In the second game, Zimbabwe stunned the Babar Azam-led team by 1 run.

They returned to winning ways against the Netherlands but their chances of making it to the semi-finals had already taken a bad hit.
