Rahul Dravid press conference
Salman Butt criticises Rahul Dravid' decision to make changes

India will face Australia at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai for the final match of the series today. The series is levelled at 1-1 after Australia handed India a 10-wicket humiliating defeat in the 2nd game.

Ahead of the 3rd game, Rahul Dravid spoke to the press, where the 50-year-old spoke in detail about India’s plans for the World Cup, and remarked that they have narrowed down 17-18 players for the tournament and will just try different combinations irrespective of the result.

“We have to see the larger picture. We need to play different combinations in the XI, and irrespective of the result on Wednesday, we will continue to make changes. We are fully focused on the World Cup.”

Meanwhile, former Pakistan captain Salman butt took a dig at Rahul Dravid over his remarks and urged him to focus on the bilateral series first and then shift his attention to the World Cup.

“Rahul Dravid talked about trying different combinations, but first winning the series. Series toh jeetle aap, badalna toh irrelevant hai. (First, win the series and then talk about making changes in your playing XI). Here is where the problem starts for any team. How many changes do you want?”
