Shikhar Dhawan-led Indian team is currently gearing up for the upcoming limited-overs series against Sri Lanka which is scheduled to take place from July 13 in Colombo.
The Indian players have completed their 14-day mandatory quarantine period in Mumbai and began the preparations for the forthcoming tour of Sri Lanka.
Krunal Pandya recently took to his official Instagram handle and shared some pictures of himself training in the gym along with his brother Hardik.
Captioning the post, the all-rounder wrote, “Swipe left to follow us into the gym.”
Earlier in a day, Krishnappa Gowtham also posted a photo on his Instagram story with his “running partner” Shikhar Dhawan.
Gowtham will be hopeful of making his international debut during the Sri Lanka tour, comprising three ODIs and as many T20Is.
Team India will depart for Colombo on June 28. While the swashbuckling opener Dhawan has been named as the captain of the team, experienced pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar was picked as his deputy.
The likes of Devdutt Padikkal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Nitish Rana, Chetan Sakariya, and Krishnappa Gowtham received their maiden India call-up.
Notably, Indian players, who are part of the 20-member squad for the upcoming Sri Lanka series, haven’t played competitive cricket since the suspension of IPL 2021.
The 14th edition of Indian Premier League was called off last month, owing to the rising number of COVID-19 cases inside the bio-secure bubble.
