The match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Gujarat Titans is halfway through with the hosts, KKR, batting first, put 179/7 on the board. Notably, rain poured in at Eden Gardens right after the toss, which delayed the start of the match by 45 minutes.
During the 15th over of the first innings, the broadcasters played a clip where they showed Gujarat Titans coach Ashish Nehra having fun with his former national teammate Murali Kartik, who is a toss presenter and commentator for IPL 16, before the start of the match.
In the video, Nehra jokingly hit Kartik on the groin, following which the former left-arm spinner fell on the ground in severe pain. In reply, Kartik also tried hitting Nehra.
When Ashish saw the pre-match footage sitting in the dugout, he could not control his laughter. Meanwhile, Kartik was present in the commentary box when the broadcasters played the clip. Nehra, who guided Gujarat to IPL glory in their debut season last year, has got off to a great start this season, as Gujarat are third with 10 points in seven games.
